Biography

Alix Voz is a curator, artist, educator, and researcher exploring the intersection of art, public space, and well-being. As an Art Gallery Director and Curator specializing in Modern and Contemporary Art, she is committed to fostering inclusive, thought-provoking, and forward-thinking experiences that challenge perceptions and invite dialogue.

A dedicated professor with experience in higher education, including online and long-distance learning, Alix is skilled in human-focused management, human geography, public speaking, research, and visual cultural studies. She is currently pursuing a Doctor of Education degree specializing in the role of art galleries in public health, deepening her commitment to the transformative potential of the arts in fostering community well-being.

As an artist, her practice investigates place-making, collective memory, and the impact of cultural landscapes on identity. Through studio experimentation and site-specific installations, she explores space as material—blending text, objects, photography, architectural interventions, and sculptural painting to engage with themes of belonging, inclusion, and dialogue. Her public art murals and socially engaged projects activate shared spaces, fostering collaboration and civic engagement.

A passionate advocate for the role of the arts in health, Alix has developed free art wellness programming for her local community and founded the first art prescription program in her region. Deeply inspired by the emerging field of neuroarts, she values access to neuroaesthetic experiences as a vital component of individual and collective well-being.

Beyond her curatorial and artistic work, Alix’s love of storytelling extends to children's literature. She illustrated Dimes from Heaven and is currently working on a series of illustrated books that celebrate traditional family recipes and iconic figures in art history.

Her work has been recognized with grants and awards from the Ontario Arts Council. Alix holds a BFA from Nipissing University, an MA in Interdisciplinary Studies, and a Graduate Diploma in Curatorial and Visual Studies.

I love creating new artwork, collaborating with others, and bringing public art to life… but nothing comes close to my love for Enzo.

Enzo is an Aussiedoodle with a refined taste for art (and treats). He’s a certified gallery pro, expertly weaving through studios without stepping in paint... well, most of the time. A few of my pieces may feature an unexpected paw print, making him an unofficial co-artist.

As the best gallery assistant ever, Enzo greets visitors with enthusiasm, attends public art events like a seasoned curator, and has a keen eye for creative spaces. When he’s not in the gallery, you’ll find him making a splash, whether it’s a lake, a river, or the smallest puddle on the sidewalk.

Art, adventure, and the occasional muddy paw print, life with Enzo is never dull
